Andreea Ernst-Vintila is a full-time tenured associate professor of social and environmental psychology at Aix-Marseille Universite - Universite de la Mediterranee and sits as the International Relations Coordinator for the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities. She is also a principal investigator with the Laboratory of Applied Psychology of the University of Reims Champage-Ardenne (France).
Dr. Ernst-Vintila conducts research on the social thinking and the behaviors related to collective risks such as environmental hazards, terrorism, crises, etc. The theoretical anchorage of her research is the Theory of Social Representations, mainly, but not only, in its experimental and structural approach. Dr. Ernst-Vintila’s research is regularly published in scientific and scholarly journals.
Before being tenured at Aix-Marseille Universite, Dr. Ernst-Vintila conducted research on cross-cultural psychology and collective risks as an assistant professor and research supervisor at the American University in Paris, and HEC, the number 1 European business school.
Dr. Ernst-Vintila has obtained a Ph.D. in social and environmental psychology from the Université Paris Descartes in 2005. Prior to focusing on psychology, she had trained as an organic chemistry engineer and had had a 15 years carrer in the private sector of international business.
